Elemental analysis of solid and liquid substances by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy
Celem ćwiczenia jest zapoznanie się z podstawami rentgenowskiej spektroskopii fluorescencyjnej oraz określenie składu pierwiastkowego wybranych substancji stałych i ciekłych.
The experiment enables to analyze elemental composition of solid samples, powders and liquids using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy method (XRF). The exercise is performed on an XRF spectrometer with energy dispersion (MiniPal4, PANalytical) equipped with an X-ray tube with a Rh anode. In the basic version, a qualitative analysis of the chemical composition of coins and powdered eggshells is carried out. The student prepares samples, collects XRF spectra and identifies the elements present in the tested samples.
